Lugar: CMMAS

Mike Frengel is an internationally recognized composer and guitarist. Combining his training in electroacoustic music composition and electric guitar performance, Frengel uses instrumental preparations, extended techniques, and electronic augmentations to create works that transcend the listener’s expectations of guitar performance. He will be discussing his ideas about composing new music for the guitar, in addition to his recently published book, The Unorthodox Guitar: A Guide to Alternative Performance Practice.
