The forgotten, the near-forgotten, and the reimagined; works that bring neglected musical systems, regional practices, extinct gestures, or overlooked aesthetic pathways into today’s listening.

Short Description

PHANTOMNESIS seeks recorded works that explore the forgotten, the near-forgotten, and the reimagined, works that bring neglected musical systems, regional practices, extinct gestures, or overlooked aesthetic pathways into today’s listening.

Full Description

Cambiata Arts invites composers and sound artists to submit unpublished, production-ready recordings to PHANTOMNESIS, a curated series centered on the forgotten, the near-forgotten, and the reimagined. We welcome works that activate neglected musical systems, regional practices, extinct gestures, or overlooked aesthetic pathways and bring them into contemporary listening contexts. Works up to 13 minutes in length are eligible.

Selected submissions will be released under a non-exclusive license on CambiataArt Records and featured in curated compilation albums. In addition to publication, selected artists receive full promotional support, including international outreach to music press and specialist platforms, visibility across Cambiata Arts’ partner networks, long-term digital hosting of their work, and priority consideration for future PHANTOMNESIS and Cambiata Arts projects and collaborations.
