Eva Zöllner (Alemania 1978)

 

Eva Zöllner, born in Germany in 1978, was educated as classical accordionist at the Academy of Music Cologne and at the Royal Danish Academy of Music in Copenhagen, Denmark. She is one of the most active accordionists of her generation and devotes herself to contemporary music. Eva has performed as a soloist in most European and Latin American countries as well as in Australia, North America and Asia. She has worked with leading ensembles for contemporary music and is regular guest artist at festivals and concert series all around the world. In Mexico she has appeared at festival such as Festival Internacional Cervantino, Instrumenta Oaxaca, Visiones Sonoras, Festival de Mexico, Foro de Musica Nueva. An important part of her activity is the close cooperation with composers. She has premiered around 100 new works for accordion. Lately she has been particularly interested in the potential of the accordion within electroacoustic music and multimedia art. Eva is based in Hamburg but lives as a nomadic musician, travelling around the world to explore her instrument in different cultures and contexts.
